Financing innovative projects is essential for driving technological advancements and economic growth. By providing necessary funds, mentorship, and networking opportunities, innovators can turn groundbreaking ideas into market-ready solutions, benefiting society as a whole.
The European Innovation Council (EIC) offers substantial financial support through its various programs. The EIC Pathfinder provides up to 4 million EUR for early-stage research and groundbreaking ideas. The EIC Transition grants up to 2.5 million EUR to help mature and validate technologies, while the EIC Accelerator offers up to 2.5 million EUR to support high-growth potential SMEs and startups.
EIC Pathfinder – up to 4 million EUR (100% of total eligible costs)
The EIC Pathfinder program is designed to support visionary researchers and scientists in exploring bold ideas and early-stage innovations that could lead to significant scientific or technological breakthroughs (TRL 1-4). This program encourages research and fosters collaboration between academia, industry, and other stakeholders. The ultimate aim is to turn pioneering concepts into viable technologies, providing a foundation for future commercial applications.
The deadline for submitting proposal 16th October 2024.
EIC Transition – up to 2.5 million EUR (100% of total eligible costs)
The EIC Transition program bridges the gap between early-stage research and market-ready innovations (TRL 3-6). It supports the maturation and validation of technologies that have already demonstrated proof of concept in the laboratory. By providing funding and business development resources, the Transition program helps researchers and innovators refine their prototypes, conduct further testing, and develop robust business models.
The deadline for submitting proposal 18th September 2024.
EIC Accelerator – up to 2.5 million EUR (70% of total eligible costs)
The EIC Accelerator is specifically tailored to support SMEs and startups with high-growth potential (TRL 5-9). It provides a combination of grant funding and equity investments to help these companies scale up their innovative solutions and penetrate global markets. The Accelerator program targets innovations that are ready for commercialization and offers a comprehensive support package, including business coaching, mentoring, and access to a network of investors and industry partners.
Proposals can be submitted from 1st January 2024.
